The iPhone 16 series launched globally, including in India, during Apple’s special event on September 9, 2024. The new lineup—consisting of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—is now available for pre-order starting today, September 13, 2024. With the launch of these next-generation models, Apple has revised the prices of last year’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, slashing them by Rs 10,000. The price of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus has also been reduced.
If you’ve recently purchased one of these iPhones, there’s some good news for you. Under Apple’s “price protection” policy, if the price of an Apple product drops, and you bought it within 14 calendar days of the change, you’re entitled to a refund of the price difference. For those who purchased an iPhone 15 or iPhone 14 within the last two weeks, this could mean a refund of Rs 10,000.
How to claim your refund
To claim this refund, you can visit an Apple Retail Store or contact the Apple Contact Centre at 000800 040 1966. According to Apple’s policy, you must request the refund within 14 calendar days of the price drop. You can get either a refund or a credit for the price difference.
However, keep in mind that this refund policy does not apply to limited-time price reductions, such as those seen during special sales events, according to Apple. Additionally, the price protection policy only covers up to 10 units of the same product. When requesting a refund, you’ll need to have the product in hand or provide proof of possession.
Current iPhone 15 and 14 pricing
With the launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple has adjusted the prices of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 models. Here are the new prices:
- iPhone 15 128GB: Rs 69,900 (previously Rs 79,600)
- iPhone 15 256GB: Rs 79,900 (previously Rs 89,600)
- iPhone 15 512GB: Rs 99,900 (previously Rs 1,09,600)
For the iPhone 15 Plus:
- iPhone 15 Plus 128GB: Rs 79,900 (previously Rs 89,600)
- iPhone 15 Plus 256GB: Rs 89,900 (previously Rs 99,600)
- iPhone 15 Plus 512GB: Rs 1,09,900 (previously Rs 1,19,600)
The iPhone 14 models have also seen price cuts:
- iPhone 14 128GB: Rs 59,900 (down from Rs 69,900)
- iPhone 14 Plus 128GB: Rs 69,900 (previously Rs 79,900)
