Krafton India, the company behind multiple gaming titles like PUBG has announced it’s ambitious roadmap for 2026. The announcement about the future plans was made at the BGMI International Cup 2025 held in New Delhi and was done by Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India. According to him the eSports Roadmap 2026 provides a structured pathway for Indian gaming talent to move from local tournaments to global championships.
In India Krafton’s BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) continues to dominate the mobile gaming industry with over 240 million downloads. Although Krafton is headquartered in South Korea, it has seen massive success for its titles here. Whereas globally titles like PUBG, Bullet Echo, and Road to Valor: Empires have brought it recognition.
During the BGMI International Cup Krafton also introduced the Krafton India Awards. These awards are a new annual event designed to celebrate Indian gaming stars and is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on January 9, 2026. The announcement marks a significant moment for the Indian esports scene, which has grown from small community events to large-scale global competitions.
During an interaction with fans Sean Hyunil Sohn described the roadmap as more than a tournament calendar. “The 2026 Roadmap is more than a tournament calendar – it’s a structured pathway for Indian gamers to rise from grassroots to the global podium,” he said, adding that it was designed to identify and nurture talent across different regions and give them opportunities to represent India internationally.
The roadmap aims to expand Krafton India’s key esports properties which are BGIS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Series), BMPS (Pro Series), BMSD (Showdown), and BMIC (International Cup), with a city-based structure aimed at bringing competitions closer to fans.

Meanwhile, India’s TRUE RIPPERS emerged as the first runners-up, delivering a breakout performance at the tournament, while Korea’s TEAM DRX were crowned champion of the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA INTERNATIONAL CUP (BMIC) 2025, defeating top teams from India, South Korea, and Japan in a high-stakes international LAN event. The champions bagged Rs 30,00,000 along with a direct qualification to the Global Championship 2025 solidifying India’s rise in the international Esports arena.
TRUE RIPPERS from India and CAG OSAKA from Japan secured second and third places respectively, earning Rs 15 lakhs and Rs 10 lakh for their impressive performance. Alongside the team achievements, exceptional individual talent was acknowledged through a series of special awards. DRXHYUNBIN was honoured as the MVP, receiving Rs 2.5 lakhs for his stellar performance throughout the tournament. DRXQxzzz earned the title of IGL, taking home Rs 1.25 lakhs for his sharp tactical direction. M4xHERo clinched the Best Clutch Award, winning Rs 1 lakh for his decisive plays and consistent impact in crucial moments.
