KRAFTON India has rolled out the BGMI 4.1 update as a comprehensive year-end refresh to spice up the experience in the upcoming winter season. The update, which is now live and available to download, introduces a massive a lot of new content, including a new thematic battleground, an India-exclusive horror event, and the return of a popular survival mode. This could be one of the game’s most ambitious content drops to date.

Frosty Funland

The highlight of the update is Frosty Funland, a vibrant new Theme Mode that transforms Erangel into a whimsical, snow-covered setting. At the heart of this change is “Penguinville,” a large new point of interest surrounded by mini Snow Festival villages. The environment is more than just a visual overhaul; it’s an interactive playground.

Players can utilise exclusive themed gear such as Magic Ice Skates to traverse temporary ice paths, the Winterland Kar-98K that fires slowing, ice-charged bullets, and the four-seater Penguin Snowmobile. Further enhancing the experience is the Mythical Ninja Penguin, POWNIN, an AI combat companion that players can recruit.

POWNIN brings tactical depth with shuriken throws, a teleport feature, and the ability to share supplies, blending narrative charm with competitive utility.

Anamika – The Haunted Indian Bride

Adding a unique local flavour is Anamika – The Haunted Indian Bride, an India-exclusive horror-themed experiential event. Anamika appears as a Non-Playable Character (NPC) in various Erangel locations, allowing players to engage her for loot and earn themed rewards, including gold-grade horror skins, upgradeable weapons, and voice packs from leading Indian Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The event also features optional boss encounters that drop tokens for exchange in the Play & Win shop.

Metro Royale is back

For survival enthusiasts, the update marks the return of Metro Royale, an extraction-based survival mode. This iteration introduces full-season progression, chapter-exclusive rewards, and the Command Centre system, where managing relationships with NPCs can unlock bonus rewards. Core gameplay enhancements, including custom round selection and a refreshed reputation system, ensure the mode is more accessible and engaging.

Other additions

Adding to the high-octane experience, a Porsche supercar has been included in the Speed Drift game mode, offering players high-speed performance and driving realism.

To round out the festive package, KRAFTON is launching several limited-time seasonal events throughout November and December, such as the Winter Warfare Exchange Centre and the Rocket Exchange Centre, offering players opportunities to earn permanent rewards, including rare sets and outfits. The popular Mahindra BE6 vehicle spin is also making a return.
