The Reno13 series brings a fresh, premium look, combining matte and glossy finishes. The phones boast unique textures that shift in colour when viewed from different angles, thanks to a technique called grayscale exposure laser direct writing. These design elements give both the Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro a glossy look.

Oppo has also introduced exclusive colour variants for the Reno 13 series. The Reno 13 comes in Ivory White and Luminous Blue. For the Reno 13 Pro, Oppo offers Mist Lavender, and Graphite Grey. The series features an Aerospace-grade aluminium frame for durability. The Reno 13 Pro measures 7.55mm in thickness, while the Reno 13 comes in even thinner at 7.24mm for the Ivory White variant, and 7.29mm for the Luminous Blue version. The phones remain lightweight, with the Reno 13 Pro weighing 195g and the Reno 13 181g.

Both models boast IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust, water immersion (up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes), and resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Oppo’s all-round Armour architecture enhances the phones’ durability, featuring tough exterior protection and Sponge Bionic Cushioning inside.

Looking back: Evolution of the Reno series

The Reno 13 series marks the latest chapter in Oppo’s Reno line, which has evolved since its debut in 2019.

The first Reno phone, the Oppo Reno, was introduced in April 2019. It featured a unique, motorised pop-up camera that contributed largely in making Oppo stand out in the crowded mid-range segment. Oppo launched several iterations in the coming years, including the Reno 2 series in 2019 and the Reno 3 series in early 2020, which featured improved cameras and 5G capabilities.

In 2021, Oppo introduced the Reno 5 series, which built on its predecessors with an even sleeker design, better performance, and an emphasis on photography, including the introduction of AI-enhanced features. The Reno 6 series, released in mid-2021, was notable for its fast-charging capabilities and decent design. The Reno 8 series continued this trajectory, offering even more refined features such as improved 5G connectivity, enhanced cameras, and faster processing speeds. Reno 9 was launched in 2022 but it did not come to India.

Oppo Reno 10 series debuted in India in July 2023 with a starting price of Rs 39,999. The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+, the high-end in the series, is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor. The Oppo Reno 11 series arrived this year in January followed by Reno 12 series launched in May this year. Watch this space for more on the Oppo Reno 13 series in the days to come.

Globally, OPPO has sold close to 100 million Reno devices across 60 countries. In India, OPPO has consistently achieved double-digit growth in Reno sales year-on-year since 2021. According to the IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker Report, OPPO recorded the highest growth among the top five brands in Q3 2024, with the Reno 12 series being a major contributor to this growth.
