After 10 days of waiting, the iPhone 17 series finally goes on sale in India. The entire range, which consists of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the iPhone Air, will be available at all Apple Stores as well as authorised retailers in the country. Those who pre-ordered the devices will get early access at Apple Stores as well as their respective retailers. Other consumers, who did not pre-book the device, will have to wait to get their desired iPhone 17 variants, depending on the availability of the units.
Similar to Apple Stores around the world, glimpses of lengthy crowds outside the Apple Stores in India were seen. The flagship stores in BKC Mumbai and Saket Delhi were seen bustling with crowds as Apple opened stores for sales. Similarly, online retailers like Amazon, Flipkart, Vijay Sales and Reliance Digital are listing the new devices for purchase. Even Blinkit has joined in on the action, promising to deliver brand new iPhone 17 units within 10 minutes, subject to availability in your location.

The launch has generated a lot of excitement, with reports of crowds queuing up at Apple Stores in major cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru before sunrise. Here’s a look at some of the most interesting insights.
As seen in one of the videos, a scuffle broke out outside the Apple Store in BKC, Mumbai. Security personnel had to intervene after two individuals engaged in a physical altercation. While the commotion, which included people hurling slaps and punches at each other in the queue, led to disruption, the security guards managed to step in and quickly restore order. While the cause of the scuffle remains unknown, the doors were eventually opened and waiting customers were finally allowed to get their hands on the iPhone 17 models.
One Apple customer, who got his hands on four units of the iPhone 17 series, said to PTI, “I have been an early buyer for the last few years. We have been waiting since last week. We booked four units, and this model is comparatively better than the last three models…”
Another iPhone 17 series buyer chimed in, stating, “I have purchased three iPhones for my family and myself. Apple has launched very good design this year and the colour of the phone this year is also very different. This is my favourite colour that is why I am very excited.”
