For the last few days, after many announcements by Apple, users seem to be waiting for the AI reveal expected to take place on June 10. Experts expect that Apple might offer some cloud-based AI features powered by Google’s Gemini or another provider.

It is believed that Apple has reportedly held discussions with companies such as Google, OpenAI and China’s Baidu about potential generative AI partnerships. However,  iOS 18 is not expected to include Apple’s own ChatGPT-like chatbot. It is believed that Gemini  and other chatbots can be directly integrated into iOS 18.

The big idea!

During the question and answer section of ‘Power On’ newsletter, “As the world awaits Apple’s big AI unveiling on June 10, it looks like the initial wave of features will work entirely on devices,” Mark Gurman said. “That means there’s no cloud processing component to the company’s large language model, the software that powers the new capabilities,” Gurman added further.

What’s next?

Critics argue that iOS 18 might have new generative AI features for the iPhone’s Spotlight search tool, Siri, Safari, Shortcuts, Apple Music, Messages, Health, Numbers, Pages and  Keynote, among others. Earlier Gurman is expected to have mentioned that generative AI has the potential to improve Siri’s ability to answer more complex questions. In addition to this, AI might allow the Messages app to auto-complete sentences.

However, it is believed that Apple plans to unveil iOS 18 and other software updates at its annual developers conference WWDC. The annual development conference will start from June 10 and ends in June 14.
