Apple has put a stop to offering its Apple Music Voice Plan, highlights a recent report by MacMagazine. The Voice Plan, initially introduced in 2021, allowed users to interact with the extensive Apple Music library through Siri on various devices.
However, as of Wednesday, the plan is conspicuously absent from the list of available Apple Music subscription options on the official Apple website. The website’s subscription grid now only displays the Student, Individual, and Family plans. It’s worth noting that the Voice Plan was still listed on the website as of Tuesday, as evidenced by an archived version of the page on the Wayback Machine.

The good news is that the plan is still available in India, per the website. However, what follows hereafter is unpredictable or a price hike might also be on the cards given the recent price hike in plans of Apple Music competitor Spotify.
For those who are presently subscribed to the Voice Plan, Apple has confirmed that auto-renewal will be deactivated.

With the discontinuation of the Voice Plan, Apple’s most economical Apple Music offering is the Student tier, priced at USD 5.99 monthly. However, this tier is exclusively available to students. Notably, Apple had previously raised the price of the Apple Music Student plan in June 2022, followed by increases in the cost of Individual and Family plans in October 2022.
Meanwhile, Amazon continues to provide its $4.99 Amazon Music Unlimited tier, which permits access to the service on a single Echo or Fire TV device. This move by Apple to phase out the Voice Plan may have implications for its music streaming service’s pricing and accessibility, potentially impacting its competitive standing in the market.
