Apple this morning hosted its “Scary Fast” event where the Cupertino-based tech giant launched two new MacBook Pros: 14-inch and 16-inch in three and two variants, respectively, new M3-powered 24-inch iMac and more.

Apple’s latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chips

Apple has released two new MacBook Pros all powered by 3nm Apple M3 processor. The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro comes in three variants: M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. Further, the 16-inch MacBook Pro comes in two variants: M3 Pro and M3 Max. All models except for the 14-inch MacBook Air with M3 come in three colours: Silver, Space Gray and Black. The entry-level M3 MBP misses the black variant.

The prices for 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro start at Rs 1,69,900 and Rs 2,49,900, respectively.

New 24-inch iMac with M3

The long-due update to the 24-inch iMac is finally here. The Apple all-in-one comes refreshed with the latest 3nm M3 processor. It features a 4.5K Retina display and supports Wi-Fi 6E with a 1080p webcam for FaceTime. It comes in seven colours: Green, Yellow, Purple, Pink, Blue and Silver.

It offers up to 24GB of unified memory and starts at Rs 1,34,900. The pre-orders for 24-inch iMac start today, with availability beginning November 7.

Touch Bar is a thing of the past now

With the launch of the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chip, Apple has put the final nail into Touch Bar’s coffin. The model doesn’t feature a Touch Bar, but rather a notch, unlike previous iterations. It comes in two colours: Silver and Space Gray.

Apple unveiled its new M3 chip lineup, featuring the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max, produced using a cutting-edge 3-nanometer process. These chips offer faster CPUs and upgraded GPUs supporting ray tracing, mesh shading, and Dynamic Caching to optimize memory usage.

Apple calls it “the first personal computer chips made using 3nm process”. The top-tier M3 Max boasts 128GB of unified memory, 92 billion transistors, a 40-core GPU, and a 16-core CPU.
