Apple is working on a robot that might help you to guard your home. As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this upcoming device can serve as a security tool monitoring your home.
Apple plans to make it similar to an iPad but with a twist! It will have robotic hands. Speculations suggest that this device would use Apple Intelligence and Siri to allow you to use voice commands.
Apple to bring guard robots
Gurman said that the device has been in the discussion for a while now. However, the company started to make developments on it recently. He explained that this project will be headed by Kevin Lynch, who is Apple’s vice president of technology.
The device could feature a large iPad-like display attached on a “thin robotic arm”. This could allow the display to rotate 360º and tilt up and down. It is expected to perform as a “smart home command centre,” and can also be used for video conferencing. The device can keep a look on your home and you can monitor and control it remotely. Additionally you can also control all smart devices present in your home with it.
Other speculations suggest that the robot can change directions of its display to face users in a room. This will eventually make it more interactive and responsive. You can video call and give commands for interacting with you. Furthermore, Apple might launch this device by 2026 or 2027. In addition to this, it also plans to keep the price range of the device to about $1,000.
