Apple iPhone 17 series will be different from its predecessor, if not in many ways, then at least in one way- the camera design. Leaks pouring in hint at a more elongated, covering almost the entire upper part of the phone, Pixel-like camera module in the 2025 iPhone series.
Popular leaker Majin Bu has shared CAD renders indicating that the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the rumoured iPhone 17 Air will sport a rectangular camera bar extending across the device’s upper back, a huge shift in design from the traditional square camera bump.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to include four phones- the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new addition called the iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Air, which is said to replace the Plus variant, is expected to be an ultra-thin model measuring between 5.5mm and 6mm in thickness, making it one of Apple’s slimmest devices to date. This model will reportedly feature a single rear camera lens housed within the new horizontal camera bar design.
In contrast, the standard iPhone 17 is rumoured to retain a camera design similar to current models, distinguishing it from its Pro counterparts. While Majin Bu has a history of sharing credible information, it’s important to approach these leaks with caution, as not all details have been accurate in the past.
The iPhone 17 Pro models are also rumoured to feature a combination of materials in their construction, specifically a glass section for the logo area integrated into an overall metal chassis. This design choice aims to enhance durability while maintaining wireless charging capabilities.
Apple is expected to officially unveil the iPhone 17 lineup during its traditional September launch event. Until then, these design leaks provide a glimpse into potential changes, indicating that Apple may be planning to adopt a new design philosophy.
