Apple typically unveils its latest iPhone models early in the second week of September, usually on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. For reference, the iPhone 16 was introduced on Monday, September 9, 2024; the iPhone 15 launched on Tuesday, September 5, 2023; the iPhone 14 debuted on Wednesday, September 7, 2022; and the iPhone 13 was revealed on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Pre-orders for the newest devices usually begin that same week on Friday, with official retail availability starting the following Friday.

Speculation around the upcoming iPhone 17 continues to grow, but so do concerns over lingering tariffs imposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Uncertainty remains high about how these trade measures could impact iPhone pricing—especially a proposed 25% tariff Trump aimed at Apple following its decision to shift iPhone production to India instead of relocating it to the U.S., in an effort to sidestep tariffs on Chinese-made goods.In India, the entry-level iPhone 17 is anticipated to be priced at approximately Rs 89,900—marking a modest increase over the iPhone 16’s initial cost of Rs 79,900.
iPhone 17 series camera:
Apple is rumored to be significantly enhancing the front-facing camera on the iPhone 17, upgrading it to a 24-megapixel sensor—twice the resolution of the 12MP camera featured on the iPhone 16. This change is expected to result in crisper, more detailed selfies. On the back, the base iPhone 17 model is anticipated to include a 48-megapixel primary lens. The iPhone 17 Pro Max, on the other hand, may introduce a trio of 48MP sensors for wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto shots—potentially becoming the first iPhone to feature three high-resolution lenses. There’s also speculation that it could support 8K video recording. Details on other hardware and features remain closely guarded for now.

Apart from the iPhone 17 Air, the rest of the iPhone 17 models are expected to retain the same screen sizes as their iPhone 16 counterparts.
