The ninth-generation iPad—iPad 9—can be snagged for as low as Rs 20,499 during the Flipkart Big Shopping Utsav 2024 promotional sale event which kicks off today, October 9, 2024. The sale will run through October 13.
Apple doesn’t even make the iPad 9 anymore, not directly for consumers anyway (although it continues to offer it for B2B/enterprise customers) but as is the nature of these things, you can still find it via third-party retail, Flipkart in this case. The iPad 9 was formally discontinued in May even as the more modern tenth-generation model received a price cut.
Flipkart Big Shopping Utsav 2024: iPad 9 deal
During Flipkart’s Big Shopping Utsav 2024, the e-commerce website is offering the iPad 9 at a discounted price of Rs 21,999 down from a quoted MRP (market operating price) of Rs 32,900. Over and above the flat discount, Flipkart is giving Rs 1,500 off for purchases made using Yes Bank credit cards. This brings the price of the iPad 9 down to a net effective Rs 20,499.
Additionally, you can get up to Rs 21,200 when you exchange an existing smartphone or tablet, depending on the model and its condition.
The Flipkart Big Shopping Utsav 2024 is applicable on the 64GB Wi-Fi only iPad 9. The 256GB Wi-Fi variant is currently listed for Rs 37,999 while a version with 4G can go up to Rs 48,999.
The iPad 9 is notably the last iPad of its kind. It is the last entry-level iPad from Apple to come with 4G, lightning port, big bezels with a physical home button, and a headphone jack as well. It was launched in 2021. Its follow-up, the iPad 10 which was launched in 2022 has USB Type-C and supports 5G connectivity. There is no headphone jack or home button on it. The iPad 10 starts at Rs 34,900.
