After coming up with a bunch of updates in the WWDC 2024, Apple is back again with another update! News comes in that Apple will rename its ‘Apple ID’ as ‘Apple accounts’.
So, is it just a name change or has something changed? Apple explained that it just renamed Apple IDs for a better sign-in experience.
Apple Account is the new ‘Apple ID’!
In regards to the explanation behind the rename, “With the releases of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and watchOS 11, Apple ID is renamed to Apple Account for a consistent sign-in experience across Apple services and devices, and relies on a user’s existing credentials,” Apple explained in a Tuesday post on its Newsroom.
However, it looks like the change of ‘Apple IDs’ to ‘Apple Account’ doesn’t come as a total surprise, as the change was rumored earlier this year.
Apple’s other key announcements!
During the Apple WWDC 2024, Apple came up with a bunch of updates. All of its new updates were focused on the maximum involvement of ‘AI’. Given below are some of the major highlights of Apple WWDC 2024:
- Apple introduced Apple Intelligence. Apple’s own personal intelligence system that puts powerful generative models at the core of iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
- Apple also launched, iOS 18 which has the potential to make iPhone more personal, capable, and intelligent than ever.
- Then came macOS Sequoia which aims to take productivity and intelligence on Mac to new heights.
- iPadOS 18 also introduced powerful new intelligence features and apps designed for Apple Pencil.
- Apple introduced watchOS 11 which brings powerful health and fitness insights, and even more personalization and connectivity than ever.
- AirPods were introduced to convenient ways to communicate and interact.
- New updates were added to the Home experience, to elevate entertainment and bring more convenience.
- visionOS 2 brings new spatial computing experiences to Apple Vision Pro
- Apple Vision Pro arrives in new countries and regions beginning June 28
