The M3 MacBook Air 13- and 15-inch have officially arrived. The new models look exactly like the M2-based machines from last year, but Apple is promising up to 60 percent faster performance (than an M1) in addition to bringing a more powerful GPU that supports both mesh shading and ray-racing and brand-new neural engine for pulling off demanding AI tasks more effortlessly. The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at Rs 1,14,900 (Rs 1,04,900 for education). The 15-inch MacBook Air with M3 will start at Rs 1,34,900 (Rs 1,24,900 for education). Pre-orders are starting today itself with general availability pegged for March 8.

The 13-inch MacBook Air M3 starts at Rs 1,14,900. This is for a version with an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD. The base 15-inch MacBook Air M3 with an 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 8GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD is priced at Rs 1,34,900. (The 13-inch M2 MacBook Air is getting a price cut and now starts at Rs 99,900).
Choice of colours both models include midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey.

Both models have a Liquid Retina display with slim bezels and 1080p webcam up-top still housed inside a notch. The screen can peak 500nits. True Tone is available.
Under the hood, you get Apple’s new M3 chip. Apple claims up to 60 percent faster performance over the M1-based MacBook Air. The machines have faster Wi-Fi 6E and can support up to two external displays when the laptops are closed.
You get two Thunderbolt ports, headphone jack, and MagSafe charging. They are both rated to deliver up to 18 hours of battery life.
Elsewhere, the Magic Keyboard, onboard, features a full-height function row with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad. Rounding off the package are a 4-speaker sound system with support for spatial audio and 3-mic array. The 13-inch model weighs 1.24kg while the 15-inch is 1.51kg.
