Amazon Black Friday sale kicks off November 29.

Amazon is set to launch its inaugural Black Friday sale in India, running from November 29 to December 2, 2024. The sale comes after Flipkart kicked off its own Black Friday event, which started on November 24 and runs through November 29. This marks a significant moment for Amazon, as it brings the globally popular shopping event to Indian shoppers for the first time.

Amazon’s Black Friday sale promises huge discounts across a wide range of categories. Popular brands like Apple, Samsung, LG and Panasonic are participating in the event. Shoppers can expect discounts of up to 75 percent on mobile phones, electronics, and accessories, Amazon revealed in a blog post.

In addition to attractive discounts, Amazon is offering exclusive deals for its customers. Those who use HDFC, IndusInd, BOB Card, and HSBC bank debit and credit cards will receive a 10 percent instant discount, while EMI options are also available for easy payments. Prime members can expect unlimited 5 percent cashback on all purchases made with the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank co-branded credit card. Non-Prime members will still enjoy a 3 percent cashback.

So, why is Amazon doing this?

Saurabh Srivastava, Vice-President of Categories at Amazon India, said, “The record-breaking success of Amazon’s Great Indian Festival 2024 showed the huge appetite Indian customers have for great value. Now, we’re raising the bar by bringing Amazon’s popular shopping event globally, Black Friday, to India for the first time ever on Amazon.in.”

The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 set a high benchmark earlier this year, especially in the smartphone and electronics categories. According to Amazon, the sale saw over 11 crore customer visits in the first 48 hours, with 80 percent of those coming from Tier 2 and smaller towns. Smartphones, particularly those priced above Rs 30,000, saw a remarkable 30 percent year-on-year growth. Brands like Apple, OnePlus, and Samsung dominated the premium smartphone segment, and nearly 70 percent of these sales came from non-metro areas.

With the launch of its Black Friday sale, Amazon is aiming to keep the momentum going, offering Indian shoppers even more deals and discounts on top brands as the year ends. Watch this space for more updates on all the top deals and offers in store.
