India’s homegrown brand Lenskart is planning to step into the smart AI-powered AR glass segment – one where Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses dominate currently. The Piyush Bansal-owned firm, which is also set to introduce its IPO, seems to be readying a pair of new AI-powered smart glasses under the ‘B by Lenskart Smartglasses’ range.

Based on a report from PTI, industry insiders suggest that the company is preparing for a debut by the end of December 2025 and will utilise Qualcomm’s latest chip to power its AI applications on an Augmented Reality interface. The device is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, which is a chipset designed for lightweight augmented reality and camera-enabled AI applications. Similar to Meta Ray-Ban, Lenskart intends to position the smart glasses as a comprehensive lifestyle tool, integrating cutting-edge AI functionalities with daily utility.

Lenskart AI glasses launching soon

Key features expected in the “B by Lenskart Smartglasses” include:

AI-based interactions: This pair of glasses is expected to leverage advanced AI software to provide dynamic, contextual, and interactive user experiences.

Health and well-being insights: The glasses are expected to offer various health monitoring capabilities, tapping into the growing market for personal health data and wearable biometrics.

UPI payment capabilities: In a feature highly relevant to the Indian market, the smart glasses will reportedly include the ability to facilitate Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions via the onboard camera, offering users a hands-free payment option. This feature was recently enabled on Meta Ray-Ban smartglasses.

However, the major technological highlight of the new eyewear is its foundation. The product is said to be built on Google’s Gemini 2.5 AI model, suggesting the integration of Google’s advanced AI model to power its interactive interface.

The timing of the launch is particularly noteworthy, as the release of the smart glasses is anticipated to occur weeks following Lenskart’s planned stock market listing on November 10. This suggests that the company is looking to capitalise on the renewed investor and public attention emerging from its initial public offering by showcasing its next-generation product roadmap.

B by Lenskart Smartglasses expected price

The rumours from insiders have yet to hint at the pricing of ‘B by Lenskart Smartglasses’. The company has not finalised the retail cost, leaving consumers and competitors to speculate on the product’s positioning. However, Lenskart would become one of the first Indian consumer tech brands to commercialise AI-driven eyewear in India, competing with products such as Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and Amazon Echo Frames, but mostly at a price point suited to Indian users.
