Apple is preparing to broaden its retail presence across India in the coming months, as confirmed by CEO Tim Cook during the company’s latest earnings announcement. In the earnings call, Apple CEO announced the company’s intention to launch more retail outlets in fresh markets by year-end. He emphasized that Apple is still identifying growth prospects in developing regions to expand its customer reach through a stronger physical retail network.
“We recently launched the Apple Store online in Saudi Arabia, and we couldn’t be more excited to open new stores in the UAE and India later this year”, Cook said. “We were also delighted to welcome customers in Japan to a new location in the heart of Osaka,” he added.
Tim Cook did not revealed exact launch dates or further specifics regarding Apple’s upcoming retail locations. Previously, Apple disclosed plans to launch a new store in Al Ain, a city in the United Arab Emirates, sometime this year. This addition will complement its existing four outlets in the country — two each in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Cupertino tech giant reported impressive financial results for the April–June quarter (Q3) this year, with iPhone sales climbing by almost 13 percent year-over-year.
Apple to launch four new stores in India:
Meanwhile in India, Apple informed TechCrunch of its intentions to expand with four new stores, set to open in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and the Delhi NCR region.
Apple was hiring for its upcoming retail locations:
Back in March, John Taffe, an Apple Store leader, announced in a LinkedIn post that Apple was hiring for its upcoming retail locations.
“Apple’s journey in India has been incredible, and we’re thrilled to continue growing in these vibrant cities. To make these new stores a success, we’re looking for passionate and talented individuals to join our team”, Taffe wrote on LinkedIn.
Apple launched its first retail outlets in India in 2023, debuting Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in Delhi. These locations quickly became major crowd magnets, particularly during new iPhone release events.
