In a much-anticipated event, Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams and her colleague will conduct a live address to the Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday, July 10, at 11 AM EDT (8:30 pm IST).
NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry “Butch” Wilmore launched towards the International Space Station (ISS) on June 5 aboard a Boeing Starliner. Initially scheduled to return to Earth via the Starliner on June 22, their return was first deferred to June 26 and then postponed again last week to an undetermined date.
The delay in the astronauts’ return is attributed to a series of helium leaks on the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which NASA engineers are currently addressing.
Media are invited to join @NASA_Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams as they discuss @NASA’s @BoeingSpace Crew Flight Test mission during an Earth-to-space call at 11 am ET on July 10.
The Boeing Starliner is capable of remaining docked to the space station for up to 45 days. With over 35 days already elapsed, the spacecraft has around 10 days left to return safely to Earth. A new date for their return is yet to be announced.
