Top 100 richest people in India list includes Mukesh Ambani; this new entrant made history: Hurun report

Hurun India Rich List 2025: One cannot skip mentioning the Ambanis when we talk about the richest people in India. As the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 rolled out today, it has seen thirteen new entrants across industries. From fast-moving consumer goods and real estate, these players have officially joined the billionaire club.

The pinnacle of wealth has been topped by Mukesh Ambani and family, worth Rs 9.5 lakh crore, as per the latest Hurun data. However, the new entrants are the ones driving the force and pointing at India’s growing hub of billionaires. The most notable entry has been held by Roshni Nadar Malhotra and family from HCL, who debuted directly among the top 3.

Hunger for Billionaires

The Haldiram Snacks and Haldiram Foods International families, including Manohar Lal Agarwal, Madhusudhan Agarwal and Shivkishan Moolchand Agarwal, have made a formidable impact on the stands and saw a 15 rank jump of 46 places this year. Multiple family members also make the list, which not only points out the brand loyalty among the Indian audience but also the proliferation of wealthy individuals among the diaspora.

A significant jump was observed from the M3M group ranking at 63. The Basant Bansal and family, and Authum Investment & Infrastructure’s Sanjay Dangi & family, whose rank changes reflect strategic growth and market resilience. Other new entrants include Aditya Khemka & family from Aditya Infotech. A significant jump rope was also made by Ai Tech’s Divyank Turakhia, who climbed 108 spots with his Rs 30,600 crore wealth.

Women-driven wealth

As Roshni Nadar Malhotra became the Chairperson of HCL Technologies, she scripted history by becoming the first woman to head a listed Indian IT company. Under her guidance, the tech giant has not extended its global leadership but has explored beyond its business avenues. Making her family debut in the top 3, she is also among the few self-made female billionaires alongside Falguni Nayar and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. Commenting on this feat, Hurun India‘s founder and Chief Researcher Anas Rahman Junaid said, “She joins 100 other women on the list, including 26 dollar-billionaires and self-made icons…proving women are now central catalysts in unlocking India’s economic potential.”

Nadar is also the only woman among the top 10 richest Indians with her Rs 2.84 lakh crore wealth. This also trumps Cyrus Poonawalla’s 15% decline, while Gautam Adani still came out on second with a significant dip of 30% of his and his family’s wealth. Nadar also leads the New Delhi list as she houses among the 70 billionaires in the capital city.
