Far from Fort Kochi’s bustling tourist spots, there is Panampilly Nagar, a tranquil corner in the city. Tucked along KC Joseph Road, this place is home to quaint cafés, designer boutiques, and yoga spaces. Beyond that, it is also home to a residence that once belonged to one of Malayalam cinema’s most revered icons. Known as Mammootty House, the three-level property has been reimagined and redesigned as a boutique villa, offering guests the rare opportunity to share the space of one of the biggest stars.
Mammootty, affectionately addressed as ‘Mammokka’ by his fans, has ruled the screen for over five decades with more than 400 films to his credit. His legacy is continued by his son, Dulquer Salmaan.
About Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan’s house
Mammootty lived in this house with his wife Sulfath, daughter Surumy, and son Dulquer, from 2008 to 2020. Though the home is still owned by the family, it is now managed by VKation Experiences, a luxury stay provider across South India. The company took charge of the property in January 2025 and opened bookings.

“This home has lovely memories attached to it. Although it was not constructed by us, we truly made it our own,” Mammootty said.
During his years here, Mammootty earned the 2009 Kerala State Film Award for Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha and prepared for his famous and much-loved roles in Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja (2009) and Pranchiyettan and the Saint (2010). It was also in this house where Dulquer started his acting career with Second Show (2012) and appeared in hits like Ustad Hotel (2012) and OK Kanmani (2015).
Details of the stay
The interiors, curated by Sulfath, are about minimalist elegance with soft lighting and layered seating areas. Subtle tributes to Mammootty’s career are everywhere, from photo timelines on the staircase wall to books on his film career, some of which are available for guests to purchase.

The bedrooms are personalised. The Mammootty Suite features contemporary art, a walk-in wardrobe, and a balcony overlooking the mango tree, which was once his spot for greeting fans. Next, there is Dulquer’s Abode, which boasts marble floors and a showcase of miniature model cars. “I stayed here after moving back from Dubai,” Dulquer recalls. “I started my first film (Second Show) while living here. We were here till my daughter Marie was about two to three years old. This house holds all those memories.”
The third bedroom, Surumy’s Space, showcases the works of the artist, while the ground-floor guest room preserves photographs of Mammootty’s parents. On the top floor, there is a private theatre with over 2,000 DVDs, alongside a children’s play area and board games.
Food and drink
The house features an airy dining room that serves an all-day continental breakfast, from sourdough and pastries to eggs, sausages, pancakes, and fresh juices. Guests can explore local eateries nearby or request the in-house team to prepare snacks and coffee for the garden.
How much do you need to pay?
Located in Kochi’s upscale Kadavanthra area, the Rs 4 crore lakeside villa blends architecture, minimalism, and warmth. Once a private home, it is now available for short-term stays, with the per night rates starting at around Rs 71,623, as per several reports.
