Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role released in theatres on Thursday and earned Rs 68 crore net in India on its first day for all languages, Sacnilk.com reported. The film had the “biggest worldwide opening” for a Kollywood film. The film marks a reunion between Vijay and Kanagaraj after the 2021 blockbuster Master.
Leo Budget And Star Cast
Made on a budget of Rs 300 crore, the action thriller was released in five languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. In addition to Vijay, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Priya Anand in pivotal roles.

Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt has made his Tamil film debut with Leo. According to ABPLive, the 64-year-old actor was paid Rs 8 crore to play the character of Antony Das, one of the main antagonists in the Lokesh Kanagaraj film.

As per reports, Trisha charged Rs 5 crore for her role as Sathya, Parthiban’s wife.
Arjun Sarja and Priya Anand
Arjun Sarja and Priya Anand earned Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakhs, respectively for their roles in Leo.
Thalapathy Vijay
Thalapathy Vijay is one of the richest South actors, Vijay. He has an estimated net worth of $56 million (approximately Rs 466 crore). He charged Rs 120 crore for his role in Leo, the Times of India reported. The massive pay cheque makes him the second highest-paid actor in Kollywood after Rajinikanth.
About Leo
Leo revolves around a middle-aged man whose life is turned upside down when two gangsters come after him. They are suspecting him to be their estranged brother. The film is about his efforts to protect his family from the ensuing violence.
Leo marks the fifth collaboration between Vijay and Trisha after Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006), and Kuruvi (2008).
Leo satellite and digital rights
The makers of Leo have already earned Rs 200 crore from the sale of satellite and digital rights of the movie, India Today reported. Netflix secured the digital rights after paying Rs 120 crore, while Sun TV bought the satellite rights for Rs 80 crore.
