From Struggles in Punjab to National Fame
Kapil Sharma was born as Kapil Punj in Punjab. His life changed after his father, who served in the police force, passed away due to cancer in 1997. Kapil became the main earning member of the family at a young age.
To support his household, he took up several odd jobs. According to reports, he worked at a PCO for Rs 500 per month and later at a textile mill for Rs 900.

In 2016, Kapil started The Kapil Sharma Show, which further helped him strengthen his position as one of India’s most successful comedians.
