Fahadh Faasil is known for keeping a low profile and staying away from the spotlight. But he recently went viral. Well, actually it was his phone that became the talking point, and we will soon find out why.
The Pushpa actor attended the puja ceremony of Mollywood Times this week. Mollywood Times is an upcoming Malayalam film directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak, featuring Naslen in the lead. A short clip from the ceremony began circulating online, where the actor is seen stepping aside to attend a phone call.
Netizens were quick to notice that he wasn’t using a smartphone, but a keypad phone. Interest piqued soon and his fans did some digging to find out more about the phone. It’s a Vertu Ascent, a luxury handset that originally retailed for around $11,920 (approximately Rs 10.2 lakh) when it was first launched nearly 20 years ago.
Built by British luxury brand Vertu, the Ascent features materials like titanium, leather, and sapphire crystal, in tune with Vertu’s luxury aesthetic. The phone does not have the ease and features of a modern day smartphone, its whopping price is because of the craftsmanship and status. Some variants of the phone even came with concierge services and personalised assistance, showing how exclusive the brand is.

Actor Vinay Forrt had earlier revealed that Fahadh “completely avoids smartphones and social media,” instead opting for a “very basic phone.” While he did not reveal which phone Fahadh uses, this video has all the answers now.
The Vertu phone is currently unavailable for purchase through official channels, which suggests that Fahadh has had this phone for several years.
On the work front, Fahadh was last seen portraying SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS in Pushpa 2: The Rule, alongside Allu Arjun. His upcoming films like Maareesan, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, Don’t Trouble The Trouble, Patriot, and Karate Chandran are also highly awaited.
There are also reports that he might soon make his Bollywood debut with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s The Idiot of Istanbul.
