An age-old tradition of Sindoor Khela is a popular practice done by females after the Dashami pooja on the last day of Durga Pooja. After the final rituals of worshipping Goddess Durga, married women apply sindoor (vermilion) on the goddess’ forehead and feet as a mark of respect and blessing. After this, they smear sindoor on each other’s faces and foreheads, wishing one another long, happy marriages, prosperity, and protection for their families.
