The football star and the Grammy-winning singer shared the news in a joint Instagram post with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The carousel included shots from Kelce’s romantic garden proposal, where he went down on one knee under a flower-adorned arch, surrounded by a lush display of flowers. In one of the pictures, we get to see the star of the moment, the ring itself. Swift kept her look for the engagement effortlessly chic. She wore a black-and-white striped Ralph Lauren halter dress paired with brown Louis Vuitton heeled sandals and accessorized with a gold Cartier Santos Demoiselle Quartz watch featuring a diamond-encrusted face. But, as expected, the pièce de résistance was her dazzling engagement ring, a design Kelce helped bring to life alongside Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
A vintage-inspired ring
According to multiple reports, Kelce was deeply involved in the creation of the ring, working closely with Lubeck to design a piece that would reflect both Swift’s style and the couple’s love story. The result is a brilliant-cut old mine diamond rounded at the edges, bezel-set in 18k yellow gold, and adorned with delicate hand engravings on the sides of the band. Jewelry specialists have been quick to praise its craftsmanship.
“The style of the ring is definitely a throwback to the Victorian era, with beautiful, delicate, and decorative gold work,” said Benjamin Khordipour of Estate Diamond Jewelry to Page Six. The publication confirmed that the design is indeed the work of Kindred Lubeck, whose bespoke creations are known for their blend of modern refinement and antique charm.
Khordipour added, “Taylor Swift was proposed to with a stunning elongated antique cushion-cut diamond that is approximately eight carats, F color, and VS1 clarity. The ring was handcrafted in 18k yellow gold, and the center diamond is set with needle-point prongs that perfectly match the antique style. Smaller diamonds and hand engravings adorn the shoulders of her setting.” He even called it his “favorite celebrity sparkler of the year.”
What do experts say about the design and price of Taylor Swift’s engagement ring?
While some details of the ring remain private, jewellery specialists have already offered their insights based on available images. Rich Goldberg of Safian & Rudolph Jewelers described the piece to The Independent as “as classic and whimsical as the pop star herself.”
“Based on the limited photos we currently have, the center diamond looks to be an elongated cushion cut of approximately five to six carats,” Goldberg said. “A diamond shaped like this could also be an old mine brilliant cut, which is essentially an antique diamond with a cushion shape. The setting appears to be yellow gold, wider at the top, tapering down with engravings along the sides, possibly featuring a couple of very small inlaid gemstones.”

Industry experts have also speculated about its price. According to jewelry appraiser Ira Singer, “It looks like 7.5 carats and set in an antique decorative reproduction with engravings and either 14k or 18k gold or rose gold. The price of the ring depends on who sold it and if at retail, but most likely $1.5 to $2 million. For us, it would have been $1 million.”
Travis Kelce’s proposal
While the couple is yet to share full details of the proposal, their love story began when they started dating in 2023. The two recently appeared together on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, where Swift announced the upcoming release of her much-anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. That same week, Kelce opened up in a profile published by GQ, where he gave fans a rare look into their relationship. “Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people. We’re just two people that are in love,” he said. “It happened very organically, even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked. Nothing I’ve ever done has been a controlled, organized process.”
Over the course of their two-year relationship, Swift and Kelce have become each other’s biggest supporters.
