The horror-comedy franchise, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, has become a significant part of contemporary Indian cinema, blending elements of humor, horror, and cultural narratives. The third installment, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, marks a continuation of the franchise with Kartik Aaryan reprising his role as Rooh Baba, following his success in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Kartik Aaryan’s Role and Fee Increase
Kartik Aaryan’s portrayal of Ruhaan Randhawa (Rooh Baba) has received considerable acclaim, particularly after he successfully took over the lead role from Akshay Kumar in the previous film. Reports indicate that, following the commercial success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which was produced with a budget of approximately Rs 65 crore, Aaryan has significantly increased his remuneration for the upcoming sequel. Initially earning Rs 15 crore for the second installment, he is now reportedly demanding between Rs 45 to Rs 50 crore for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, effectively tripling his fee.
Box Office Success and Impact
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s performance was a pivotal moment for Aaryan’s career, contributing to his elevated status in the industry. The film garnered positive reviews and achieved substantial box office returns, solidifying Aaryan’s market value. His previous project, Chandu Champion, which featured him as India’s first Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, saw him earn Rs 25 crore despite mixed critical reception.
Co-star Fee Adjustments
In addition to Aaryan’s fee hike, Triptii Dimri, his co-star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has adjusted her remuneration following her notable performance in Animal (2023), earning Rs 40 lakhs. For the upcoming film, Dimri is reportedly charging Rs 80 lakhs, reflecting her rising profile in the industry.
