Amidst almost all industries doing exceedingly well across the world with massive growth, the film and entertainment industry is one to have seen unbelievable success in the past few years, thanks to the influx of meaningful content and the rise of OTT platforms.
Though lockdown was a big challenge for the industry, it bounced back with incredible films and series that have not just wowed audiences in theatres but now also on OTT.
This has paved the way for phenomenal talents both on-screen as actors and artists and off-screen as writers, directors, and producers. One of the most talked-about producers and directors among these has been Sarika Sanjot, who believes the rise of the entertainment industry has been a collective effort, and together, artists and producers have put in every possible effort to generate enormous profits and love from audiences.
Producer of unique films like Kahani Rubberband Ki, Family of Thakurganj, Phamous, and GST (Galti Sirf Tumhari) is now all set to make her comeback with her next titled “Mutton Biryani.”
For the same, she is already in discussions with several prominent artists in the industry, who have also shown a keen interest in doing the project. Sarika, who relocated to Gujarat after marriage, says how films have been her first love ever since her childhood when she would watch films in theatres with her parents.
To pursue her passion for films as she grew up, she even worked in varied departments, shooting ads and films in Delhi and Mumbai. After her sons grew up, she decided to rekindle her passion, wrote her first script in 2016, and shot for the same in 2019. However, the lockdown ruined things and paused her plans to release a film on family planning, which would have been the first project on the topic in the industry.
The film was released later among 16 other releases, but the feedback she received was excellent. Now, the team is awaiting a great OTT release soon.
With Mutton Biryani, Sarika Sanjot hopes she can yet again offer audiences pure entertainment and a “flavorful” cinematic experience.
