“Rose bringing out Bruno Mars was not on my bingo card,” exclaimed melophiles on X as clips and snaps of the American singer joining the K-pop diva at BLACKPINK’s Deadline World Tour stop in Los Angeles this week went viral online. The musical partners even affectionately hugged each other while performing their 2024 hit track “APT” on the K-pop girl group’s concert in the US.

Making an explosive comeback hot on the heels of their respective acclaimed solo projects, BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa kicked off their high-voltage all-stadium tour at Goyang Stadium earlier this month. The members flew to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles this weekend. Rose’s history-making sensational track “APT” made waves yet again at one of these shows this week as Mars came through for a surprise appearance that fans never saw coming.

Fans lose all calm as Rose brings Bruno Mars onstage amid BLACKPINK concert

In classic “APT” partners’ style, Rose and Bruno set the stage on fire sporting matching jackets, as they’ve repeatedly before in the official music video as well as their yesteryear MAMA Awards stage. Fans instantly noticed the pattern and once again hailed the hit-makers’ partnership “collaboration of the year.”

Yet another user emotionally claimed “Bruno Mars hasn’t been a guest performer in another artist’s concert for 8 years and he did it for Rosé,” adding that they adore their friendship.

“Greatest of Korean x USA crossovers of all time!” cheered another fan. Even Amazon Music India’s official page commented, “It was a PARTY.”

“Bruno and Rosé turning LA into a once in a lifetime sing along APT just upgraded from hit to history,” chimed in yet another supporter. Yet another wrote, “cannot describe the joy in seeing this international cross over, these two are just terrific.” Someone else commented, “ROSÉ x BRUNO MARS??? This isn’t a concert, it’s a cosmic event #BLACKPINK.”

The beloved duo’s pleasant surprise for their fans came shortly after they became the only artists to earn multiple #1 singles on the global Spotify chart this year. Moreover, just days prior to the milestone being recorded, the BLACKPINK member broke the record (alongside Bruno Mars) for the fastest music video by an Asian act to hit 1.8 billion views on July 10, just over 264 days after the song was released.

The Deadline World Tour marks a triumphant homecoming for the K-pop quartet composing Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa. BLACKPINK’s full-group reunion follows a year and a half worth of solo adventures, including Rose’s team-up with Bruno Mars on “APT” for her debut studio album “Rosie.” All this while, Lisa even starred in a new White Lotus season, Jennie took centre stage at Coachella and Jisoo appeared in Newtopia, in addition to all four of them dropping their solo albums.
