Director Ayan Mukerji’s action-packed thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, continued its slow run at the theatres. But on its second Sunday, the movie recorded a 5.60% surge in collections. Despite the growth, the domestic earnings have not crossed the double-digit mark since August 18, five days after its grand release ahead of the Independence Day long weekend. The film had a high-voltage box office clash with Rajinikanth’s Coolie, but it has managed to sustain its steady momentum across major Indian markets.
War 2 box office collection
According to figures from industry tracker Sacnilk, the high-budget thriller has accumulated an estimated Rs 221.1 crore net in India over its 11 days. On Day 11 (Sunday), the film earned around Rs 6.6 crore net, after a sharp 56.25% spike in Saturday’s collections. With this, the second-weekend haul now stands at approximately Rs 12.85 crore net, marking its position as one of the biggest Bollywood releases of the year.
Even though Jr NTR enjoys a massive fan following in the Telugu-speaking belt, the film’s revenue share is coming from its Hindi screenings, thus proving that the movie has had a stronger impact in the northern markets.
War 2 worldwide collection
On the global front, War 2 has performed pretty impressive, crossing Rs 329.15 crore gross in just 10 days. Of this, nearly Rs 73 crore has been contributed by international markets, where the film continues to enjoy solid run among audiences.
War 2 OTT release date
The film’s producers have confirmed that Netflix has secured the digital streaming rights for War 2. While the OTT premiere date has not been officially announced, Bollywood blockbusters generally debut on streaming platforms six to eight weeks after their theatrical release. If War 2 makers follow the same pattern, audiences can expect the film to start streaming between September 25 and October 9, 2025.
War 2 cast and plot
Alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. As the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, the narrative follows Kabir Dhaliwal, a former RAW agent accused of treason, while his ex-batchmate Vikram Chelapathi is assigned the mission of tracking him down.
