One of the most celebrated personalities of modern-day cricket, Virat Kohli, lives a private life in London. The power couple of Bollywood, known for their down-to-earth approach and spiritual inclination, are focussed on raising their two children – Vamika and Akaay currently. ‘Virushka’ got married on December 11, 2017, in Tuscany, and even after eight years of marriage, share a strong bond which has deepened over a period of time. Indian women’s cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues recently revealed a surprising incident from her interaction with Kohli in New Zealand.

Rodrigues along with her teammate Smriti Mandhana shared the same hotel as Virat and Anushka and wished to learn a few tips from the ace cricketer. Recalling a conversation with the couple, Rodrigues and Mandhana, revealed that they chatted for nearly four hours. What started as a cricket-based conversation between the players soon shifted to their personal life, and went on and on for four hours. Talking to Mashable India, Rodrigues revealed that they were reportedly asked to leave the cafe premises where both women’s and men’s teams had lodged.

‘The cafe kicked us out’

Speaking about her experience, Rodrigues elaborated that the conversation quickly shifted gears from cricket to life. She revealed that Kohli “actually told Smriti and me that ‘you both have the power to change women’s cricket, and I can see that happening.’”

A notable compliment from the cricket star, Rodrigues, shared that it went on for about four hours. “It felt like a few long-lost friends who met and spoke. The only reason we stopped was because the cafe staff kicked us out,” she said.

This comes just a day after Team India played their debut match at the Asia Cup 2025. Taking an entertaining turn of events, an easy victory against the UAE landed in Team India’s favour after they finished their innings in just five overs. This was the first time since both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were not in the squad, after announcing their retirement from the five-day format. Not only did Suryakumar Yadav debuted as captain for the Asia Cup squad, but Shubman Gill, the red-ball captain, led many a match to victory against England earlier this year.

Virat & Anushka’s move to London

Now, parents of two, both Virat and Anushka, have moved to London in the desire of a quiet life. Often seen having a tiff with the paparazzi, they strongly condemn clicking their pictures without consent. While it was a key moment for Virat Kohli’s career at the Indian Premier League (IPL), when he led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to victory, it had an unfortunate outcome. Thousands who gathered to celebrate this win were caught in a fatal stampede in the city. A huge lapse in crowd management, the entire country was in a state of disbelief.
