India’s power couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, announced the arrival of their second child on Tuesday, February 20. Kohli took to Instagram to share the news. The baby boy, who has been named Akaay, was born on February 15. However, the announcement was made online today on Instagram.

The couple had their first child in January 2021, named Vamika. Although fans have been speculating about Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy for a long time the couple chose to maintain privacy with the second kid.

In the latest Instagram post made by both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, the duo have asked for blessings and privacy in the crucial moment. The post reads, “We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time.”

The single post on Instagram has created a huge buzz with people sending love and blessings online. The baby boy is welcomed as “Junior Kohli” and “Next King.”

Rumours Around Anushka Sharma’s Pregnancy

Anushka Sharma has been away from the limelight for quite some time. From fans to celebrities, everyone was expecting the “good news.” Without naming either Virat or Anushka, businessman Harsh Goenka had also posted about the buzz on X. Harsh Goenka sparked curiosity on social media on February 13 with a mysterious tweet from his X handle. In the tweet, he hinted at a cricketer and his actress-wife anticipating their second child soon. The businessman amusingly speculated about the baby’s potential career, suggesting it might follow in its parents’ footsteps in either cricket or Bollywood. However, he chose not to disclose the identity of the celebrity couple.

Earlier on February 3, cricketer AB de Villiers had posted a YouTube video addressing Virat Kohli’s absence from the Test Series. He assured viewers about the Indian cricketer’s personal life being in good order. AB de Villiers also praised Virat for prioritizing his family and revealed that the former India captain and his wife, Anushka Sharma, were expecting their second child. However, a few days later AB de Villiers made a U-turn on the second child remark saying that the information shared was false.
