Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri box office collection day 2: Kartik Aryan and Ananya Pandey returned to theatres this Christmas with a familiar rom-com flavour in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. Released on Thursday, December 25, the film benefited from the festive mood as holiday crowds trickled into cinemas. However, with heavyweights like Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash dominating screens, the big question remains whether this light-hearted entertainer can hold its ground.

Also starring Neena Gupta and Jackie Shroff, the film grabbed attention early on, partly because of its unusually long title. In a year where romantic comedies largely struggled, following underwhelming responses to films like Param Sundari and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri arrives in the shadow of Tere Ishk Mein, which briefly revived the genre with Kriti Sanon and Dhanush’s chemistry.

According to Sacnilk, the film opened at Rs 7.5 crore in India, falling just short of the Rs 10 crore mark. Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, it recorded an overall occupancy of 34 per cent on day 1, though footfalls improved as the day progressed. Night shows performed better, clocking over 40 per cent occupancy. While strong promotions helped generate buzz online, the worldwide collection nudged the film closer to Rs 10 crore on day one, offering a modest but hopeful start.

On day 2, the industry tracker reported a decline of at least Rs 2 crore. After grossing Rs 5 crore on its opening Friday, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’s box office collection tally stood at Rs 12.75 crore on day two.

Occupancy rates dipped by a massive rate just a day after the release, despite festive cheer. Recording an overall 20 per cent, night shows could not save the underwhelming response. With nearly 1000 shows scheduled in India, Delhi NCR showed maximum occupancy of more than 20 per cent across 564 shows. Similarly, for Mumbai, the occupancy rate could not cross 30 per cent rom th 428 screenings.
