Amid the Dhurandhar storm, Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday‘s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri was released on Christmas, December 25, 2025. Packaged perfectly for the festive Christmas and New Year season, the film has opened to mixed reviews, with some calling it a fun entertainer, while others criticising the run-of-the-mill storyline.

The picturesque locations, Kartik Aaryan‘s comic timing, a blend of humour and emotion, and the supporting cast of Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta add to the entertainment quotient, say netizens. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film also stars Tiku Talsania, Grusha Kapoor, Lokesh Mittal, and Raghav Binani, among others.

Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday are teaming up after a six-year gap, as they were last seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film that faces competition from Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar and James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, has collected Rs 4.28 crore at the advance box office window.

A perfect entertainer

The early X reviews have termed the film a perfect blend of comedy and emotion. An X user calls the Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday-starrer a must watch for people who are die-hard fans of love stories.

“#TMMTMTTM is an entertainer. The first half is about the whole vacation vibes which is visually solid. Commendable cinematography with impressive frames,” reads an X review.

“A rom-com with non-stop laughter, heart in the right place and enough dose of family values,” another user chimed in.

Strong direction

An X user was all praise for the film’s direction, saying it keeps the viewers glued till the end.

“Sameer Vidwans’ direction is strong, and he succeeds in keeping the audience engaged throughout. After Satya Prem Ki Katha, he once again delivers an honest film for the family audience,” a comment read.

A visual treat

Adding to the overall look and feel are the beautiful locations where the film was shot.

“The picturesque locations beautifully capture the phase where Kartik & Ananya fall in love….. The first half flows effortlessly, lighthearted, romantic, and filled with fun moments that keep the mood easy and engaging.
Whereas, the second half shifts gears into a more dramatic space, focusing on relationships, family bonds, and emotional conflicts…..,” read a social media post.

Kartik Aryan was hailed for his “confident and sincere performance,” as netizens thought he balanced romance, comedy, and emotion with ease. Many feel “his scene with Jackie Shroff in the hospital will trend on social media for sure.”

“Ananya Panday looks beautiful and brings warmth to her role, sharing a natural chemistry with Kartik. Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta add solid support by bringing depth and grace to their characters,” an X user wrote.

Second half wins hearts

While the first half is all about comedy and entertainment, the emotional second half carries the film forward to a perfect finish.

“The second half is pure backbone of the film, as there are LOL moments and a superb old songs sequence where they perform — and I guarantee you all will whistle, especially on #NeenaGupta and #KartikAaryan’s performance on #SalmanKhan’s song. The last 20 minutes of the film are full of emotions, where you get to know the real concept of the film, the peak acting performances of the lead actors, which leads to a good and happy climax,” writes a social media user.

Skip it, please

A few netizens advise giving the movie a skip as they say it relies on old masala.

“Thank you Ananya and Kartik #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri for ruining my Christmas🤮” wrote a user.

“#TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri review: skippppp Karan Johar relying on his old movies now by creating Montage & remixes. #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri flop,” another X review read.

Verdict

“Overall, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is a fun-filled solid entertainer. A film that blends romance, family drama, humour, and emotion, making it a suitable watch for audiences across all age groups…. Must watch,” a user wrote.
