The trailer of Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab has just been released and the over 3-minute trailer is sure to blow everyone’s mind with its striking visuals and powerful storytelling.
Directed and written by Maruthi, the fantasy-thriller takes you inside a haunted mansion with tonnes of secrets and horrors locked inside. Prabhas adores his grandmother (played by Zarina Wahab), who’s troubled by her husband’s spirit, a hypnotist (played by Sanjay Dutt). To take on his evil spirit, he needs to enter his ancestral mansion, that exerts hypnotic influence on whoever enters it.
Unaware of the impending danger, he along with jis friends, soon find themselves caught in a web of illusions, secrets, and unknown horrors.
Boman Irani, who plays the caretaker of the mansion, guides Prabhas in navigating the complexities of the house. He tells the protagonist how the evil spirit of his grandfather targets people through their weaknesses, and suggests him to create a parallel world through his thoughts to fight him.
Trailer gives a glimpse of the fantasy world of the film
The basic premise of the story is told well through a 3-minute trailer that introduces us to all the key characters. The scale, characterisation and storytelling of the movie has already set the bar of expectations high. The formidable cast of Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt sets the screen on fire as the two clash.
As Sanjay Dutt’s character is hellbent on keeping Prabhas trapped, things take a dangerous turn. In the last frame of the trailer, Prabhas is seen in a Joker-inspired get-up, the full mystery of which will be unravelled only after the film releases.
When is The Raja Saab releasing?
The film is all set to hit the screens on January 9, 2026 to cash in on the Sankranthi weekend. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles.
A multilingual, The Raja Saab will hit release simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
A pre-release event of The Raja Saab was held in Hyderabad on Saturday, building on the buzz around the upcoming movie.
Prabhas was all praises for Zarina Wahab’s character saying she has acted wonderfully as the grandmother. “While dubbing, I was so absorbed in her scenes that I forgot my own dialogues. I became a fan of my on-screen grandmother. In this film, along with me, the grandmother character is also a hero,” said the actor at the event.
