Thamma Box Office Collection Day 5: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy has won big at the box office. After seeing a Rs 10 crore+ collection since its opening day, Maddock Films has done it again. As Thamma became the second-biggest opener after Stree 2 in the Maddock multiverse, it is now close to reaching the Rs 100 crore mark.

Following a festive Diwali 2025 release, it has given stiff competition to releases like Ek Deewane ki Deewaniyat, starring Sonam Bajwa and Harshvardan Rane. Moreover, the cast of Thamma, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal, has effectively executed the jump scares and incorporated comedic social media references.

Thamma Collection Day 5: Box office update

After a Rs 24 crore opening day, Thamma was on a high note and saw a slight dip as the festive spirit faded away. However, it still collected Rs 18.6 crore on its second day, with a Rs 13 crore kitty on Day 3. Before its first Friday, Thamma had crossed the Rs 50 crore mark and soared high, beyond expectations.

Come Friday, Thamma still managed to stay above the Rs 10 crore mark and surprised audiences on its first weekend. Grossing Rs 13 crore on Saturday, Thamma’s total box office collection has crossed Rs 78 crore. With a blockbuster Sunday awaited, the Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna starrer is in for a bigger weekend.

As occupancy rates recovered, Thamma was still going strong in the night shows with an overall occupancy rate of 22.96%. However, Delhi NCR’s audience remained divided across the 1431 shows in the capital with a 19.95% occupancy. Mumbai appeared to be better with 878 screenings which were 25% filled.

Thamma Box Office Collection Day 5: The grand VFX budget

In a series of cameos for Varun Dhawan in the Maddock-verse, he reprises the role of Bhediya as a complete surprise for audiences. Creating breathtaking visuals and jaw-dropping special effects, Thamma invested a lot in giving its fans the best.

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the iconic fight scene between Betaal and Bhediya cost nearly Rs 20 crore. Shot under the supervision of Amar Kaushik, the mentor of Maddock horror-comedy universe, the sequence was crucial to tie the movie together. Hoping for a larger crossover, Thamma director Aditya Sarpotdar had previously hinted at a potential collaboration with the Marvel superheroes. He quipped during a press conference and shared the possibility of bringing in Spider-Man too!
