Social media influencer and a seemingly Bollywood insider, Orry, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police in relation to a Rs 252 crore drug case, reported ANI. Officially named Orhan Awatramani, he has been asked to appear before the Anti-Narcotics Cell’s (ANC) Ghatkopar unit today, at 10 AM. While his name only appears in interrogation, police have not disclosed Orry’s alleged role in the case.
While the investigation is underway, this comes after Orry was booked in Jammu and Kashmir for consuming alcohol in a hotel in Katra. An FIR was lodged due to non-compliance with the rules regarding the consumption of non-vegetarian food and alcohol in the temple town.
Bollywood, parties, and more
According to several reports, Orry’s name has surfaced in several interrogation documents involving Taher Dola, Salim Dola’s son, who was recently extradited from the UAE. India Today reported that Salim Dola has reportedly been a part of celebrity parties in India and abroad, with the open consumption of drugs. Taher claimed that the named celebrities include Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Abbas-Mastan, rapper Loka, Orry, and even Dawood Ibrahim‘s deceased sister Haseena Parkar.
Dola’s right-hand man, ‘Lavish’ was brought back from Dubai in October and had named several Bollywood stars, filmmakers, and a prominent former MLA, according to the ANC. One of the key accused in the Rs 252 crore drug case involved the illegal movement of Sangli mephedrone, with the street names such as M-Cat, Meow Meow or Ice. Reports speculate that the named personalities may also be questioned by the Mumbai Police and the Enforcement Directorate. “We are in the process of verifying all the details and may summon the individuals concerned for questioning,” a senior ANC officer had confirmed earlier this week. Agencies are still tracking Dola, as per an Express report, who is suspected to be holed up in Turkey.
While not one of the accused, Orry will be questioned about Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, who was arrested earlier this month on November 5. Shaikh not only confessed, reported HT, to setting up several drug manufacturing units across states in India, but also named several personalities in his statement..
