The wedding plans of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana have been hit by another setback after her fiance, music composer Palash Muchhal, was rushed to the hospital due to sudden health issues. According to a report by NDTV, Palash had to be taken to a private hospital after developing a viral infection and severe acidity. Doctors treated him immediately, and thankfully the issue was not serious. After receiving medical care, he was discharged and returned to the hotel.

This incident comes just a day after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, experienced heart-attack-like symptoms that prompted the family to rush him to the hospital. He continues to remain admitted but is stable and recovering.

Family doctor shares health update on Srinivas Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana’s family doctor, Dr. Naman Shah explained that Mr. Mandhana experienced sudden left-sided chest pain around 1:30 pm, a symptom known medically as angina. His son immediately contacted the doctor, who sent an ambulance to take him to the hospital.

At the hospital, doctors ran an ECG and other tests, which showed elevated cardiac enzymes, a sign that he needed to be kept under observation. Dr. Shah said that Mr. Mandhana’s blood pressure was also high, and the medical team was working to bring it under control. He added that if his condition worsens, they may need to perform an angiography. For now, the family is in constant touch with the doctors, and if he continues to improve, he may be discharged soon.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal wedding postponed until further notice

Because of these back-to-back health concerns, the family has decided to postpone the wedding. No new date has been announced yet. The ceremony, expected to be one of the most talked-about events of the season, will now take place only after the family feels ready. Both families have requested privacy during this difficult time as they focus on Mr. Mandhana’s recovery.

Fans from across the country have been sending warm wishes and prayers for his health. Many have expressed hope that the family finds the strength to deal with the situation and that the celebrations can resume when everyone is well.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s relationship

Smriti and Palash were set to marry on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, in a small ceremony attended by family and close friends. Many members of the Women’s World Cup-winning Indian cricket team were also with Smriti during the celebrations.

The couple has reportedly been together since 2019 but kept their relationship private. Speculation began only in October 2025, when Palash casually hinted at a press event that Smriti would soon be the ‘daughter-in-law of Indore.’ The comment quickly went viral and confirmed long-standing rumours.
