Saif Ali Khan is currently recovering at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after being stabbed multiple times during a violent intruder attack at his Bandra West residence on Thursday. The incident occurred in the early hours when an intruder confronted Saif’s maid, leading to a confrontation where Saif was injured.
The actor underwent emergency surgery and is reportedly “out of danger,” though he remains under medical observation. In a concerning turn, sensitive details from Saif’s health insurance claim were leaked on Twitter, causing an uproar over privacy violations.
Saif, who holds a policy with Niva Bupa Health Insurance, had filed a claim for Rs 35.95 lakh for his treatment, with Rs 25 lakh already approved by the insurer. The leaked document exposed confidential information such as his member ID, diagnosis, room category, and an expected discharge date of January 21, according to Times of India
Niva Bupa expressed deep concern over the breach, issuing a statement saying, “We wish him a speedy and safe recovery. Mr. Khan is one of our policyholders, and we have approved an initial amount to start his treatment. Once we receive the final bills, they will be settled according to policy terms.”
Neither Saif Ali Khan nor his family have publicly commented on the leak.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured the public that the police have gathered significant clues in the case and are close to apprehending the culprit. He said, “Police investigation is ongoing, and they have got many clues. I feel the police will very soon zero in on the culprit.”
