Saif Ali Khan’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, told police that the intruder who attacked the Bollywood star in their Mumbai apartment Thursday morning became aggressive during a scuffle but did not take any jewellery.
The police recorded Kareena’s statement following the knife attack at the couple’s Bandra apartment, where the intruder entered Khan’s 12th-floor home and stabbed him multiple times, including on his neck. Khan, 54, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery.
According to doctors at the Lilavati Hospital, where he is being treated, he is recovering well.
According to the police, Kareena said the assailant grew violent but did not touch any jewellery left in the open. The police have yet to record Khan’s statement.
Following the attack, Kareena was taken to her sister Karishma Kapoor’s residence in Khar.
The police have assembled more than 30 teams to find the attacker, who remains at large more than 48 hours after the assault.
