Actor Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in the early hours of Thursday after he was stabbed by an intruder during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence. According to reports, Khan sustained six injuries in the attack, of which one was close to his spine and one was reportedly near the neck. Details of the case are emerging as Mumbai Police is investigating the attack and has reportedly formed seven teams to work on it.

In a latest revelation, Mumbai police was quoted as saying by Indian Express that prima facie it appears the attacker is related to one of the maids working at the Khan residence. The investigations further revealed that it was apparently the maid who allowed the intruder entry into the house. The maid is currently being questioned by the police.

According to Lilavati Hospital, Saif sustained two deep cuts, one on his back and one located near the spine. There was a minor wound present on his neck and the remaining injuries were superficial. The hospital told IE that the actor’s neurosurgery has been completed and doctors are now proceeding with plastic surgery. Khan was reportedly taken to the hospital at around 3 am by his son Ibrahim Ali Khan.
