Actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late Monday night. While there has been no official statement from the hospital or Rajinikanth’s team, a report in The Indian Express suggest that the 73-year-old actor is scheduled for an elective procedure on Tuesday (October 1).

The report also added that the hospital sources indicated that Rajinikanth, who reportedly experienced stomach pain, is in stable condition.

Further details regarding his health and the procedure are awaited. This incident recalls a health scare in late 2020, which led Rajinikanth to step back from his long-anticipated political career plans. After announcing the formation of a political party in December 2020, he revoked the decision due to health concerns and the pandemic.

Rajinikanth is currently filming Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. Earlier on Monday, he was seen meeting veteran filmmakers SP Muthuraman and AVM Saravanan, with photos of the meeting quickly going viral on social media.
