Peter O’Toole’s biography by the authors Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince claims that Princess Margaret had an affair with the British-Irish actor.
The Queen’s sister and the Irish bookmaker’s son allegedly enjoyed secret holidays on the Caribbean island of Mustique and at a private villa in Morocco, reported the Mirror.
The authors said that the ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ star was married to actress Sian Phillips when he comforted the princess as her marriage to Lord Snowdon unraveled.
The book also claims that the unlikely friendship between the princess and the working class actor, who grew in 1965, fizzled out by 1973 when the princess created a royal scandal by falling for 25-year-old society gardener.
