OG Day 1 Collection: Pawan Kalyan‘s redemption era has won big at the box office with Rs 20.25 crore in advance booking collections in Telugu alone. After grossing nearly Rs 10 crore in the early hours of its opening day, industry tracker Sacnilk reported a Rs 70 crore day 1 collection for ‘They Call Him OG’. This action-thriller also stars Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, opposing Pawan Kalyan’s character Ojas ‘OG’ Gambheera.
As reviews rave about the women-centric theme, audiences lauded the film’s strong female performances. With actors like Priyanka Arul Mohan and Sriya Reddy, netizens think that the OG movie will attract several Gen Z viewers too. Worldwide, the film has raked in over Rs 100 crore with Day 0 collections alone and has become the highest-grossing film of 2025, so far.
Pawan Kalyan’s OG movie has left behind other opening day records, including Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which debuted with a Rs 65 crore box office collection. It not only shattered Bollywood’s Saiyaara (RS 21.5) and Chhaava (Rs 31 crore), but also Kalyan’s previous film Hari Hara Veera Mallu (Rs 34 crore opening day). Globally collecting Rs 26 crore, OG’s collection soared past Rs 100 crore with ease.
They Call Him OG Box Office Collection: Vijayawada for the win
With nearly 4000 shows scheduled, the Pawan Kalyan-Emraan Hashmi starrer had an overall occupancy rate of 69.35% on Day 1. While it could not beat Coolie’s record of a 100% occupancy rate and houseful shows, the audience in Vijayawada showered much love on OG. After the 94% occupancy rate in Vijayawada, viewers in Visakhapatnam and Guntur generously came to watch the film too.
Another Telugu-dominated region, OG also did well in Kakinada, Hyderabad, and Warangal. Across the 60+ screens showing the film in Delhi NCR and Mumbai, Pawan Kalyan’s movie had more than 30% occupancy. This Sujeeth directorial also stars Prakash Raj and Arjun Das in key roles and is expected to make big waves on its opening weekend.
