Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law Rakesh Tiwari died, while his sister Sabita Tiwari was severely injured in a road accident at Nirsa Bazar on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2 on Saturday (April 20).

The accident caused severe injuries to Sabita Tiwari and treatment is underway at the Dhanbad Medical College Hospital. On arrival, emergency doctors pronounced Rajesh Tiwari deceased. Meanwhile, Sarita Tiwari received urgent medical attention.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dinesh Kumar Gindauria, Head of Emergency at SNMMCH, informed news agency PTI that Pankaj Tripathi’s sister, who suffered a leg fracture, is now out of danger.

Car crashed into divider

According to PTI, the couple was travelling from Gopalganj in Bihar to Chittaranjan in West Bengal. Due to the high speed of the car, it collided with a divider in Nirsa Bazar which damaged the whole front part of the car.

The viral CCTV footage reveals the moment the car collided with the divider, illustrating the severity of the accident through the significant damage sustained. Following the incident, authorities, aided by bystanders, rescued both occupants and rushed them to Dhanbad Medical College Hospital.

Police reported that Rakesh Tiwari was driving the car when it lost control and hit a road divider. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Rajesh Tiwari, Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law and an Indian Railways employee stationed in Chittaranjan, tragically lost his life in the accident while returning from his village. In August 2023, Pankaj also mourned the loss of his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, who lived a fulfilling life of 99 years.
