As the Sujeeth directorial collected Rs 211 crore worldwide, ‘They Call Him OG’ has minted Rs 126 crore from overseas alone. With a Rs 63.75 crore opening day, Pawan Kalyan’s OG had a Rs 100 crore gross collection, including more than Rs 20 crore from advance bookings. The second day, the first Friday, say a 70% decline as the film did not manage to cross Rs 20 crore. Finally, as the weekend opened on Saturday, fans flocked to theatres to give the movie Rs 18.5 crore.
As the ‘OG’ rampage becomes unstoppable on screens worldwide, Sujeeth took to X (formerly Twitter) and labelled his film a ‘box office destructor’. With a massive fan base, this Pawan Kalyan starrer has received a 7.2 rating on IMDb. This vengeance driven film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Emraan Hashmi, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, and Sriya Reddy in key roles. Fans have lauded the female-led performances and rely heavily on Pawan Kalyan’s hero-like entries throughout the film.
OG Box Office Day 3: High occupancy, low collection
The overall occupancy rate for ‘They Call Him OG’ improved over the weekend and touched 42%, despite a decline in collections. Interestingly, evening shows were the most popular for OG in Telugu driving most of the audience to the big screen. Kakinada had a nearly 60% occupancy rate for the Pawan Kalyan starrer across the 43 shows in the area. The maximum shows were scheduled in Hyderabad, which too had a 51% occupancy rate. Warangal and Vizag were also some areas where the Pawan Kalyan-Emraann Hashmi duo wooed the fans. However, the numbers, viz a viz the weekend, were seemingly low, as observed in trends. Largely dominated by the Telugu audience, OG in Tamil was loved by fans in Chennai, and in Hindi, the Lucknow audience seemed most enthusiastic.
