The sequel to the 2019 film Kesari, Kesari Chapter 2 is doing quite well at the box-office. On its second weekend in theatres, the movie saw a nearly 73 per cent increase in box office collections, and earned an estimated Rs 50.15 cr in India in its nine days of run, with Rs 7 crore on the ninth day, according to Sacnilk.

Over the weekend, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 25.22% on Saturday, where morning and afternoon shows were at 11.24% and 24.10%, respectively, and the evening and night shows reached 28.38% and 37.17%.

Currently Kesari 2 is facing stiff competition from Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda’s Jaat, which has earned over Rs 82 crore in 17 days at the theatres. Both Jaat and Kesari Chapter 2 will next clash with Rajkumar Gupta’s Raid 2, which stars Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla. Raid 2 will release on May 1.

Kesari Chapter 2, a period courtroom drama, also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday. The film chronicles the story of a lawyer who challenged the British Raj after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, the film released on April 18, 2025.
