Karan Johar has found himself at the centre of online rumours and speculation once again. A viral Reddit post has stirred up rumours claiming that the filmmaker recently flew to South Korea to get his face insured, allegedly taking a cue from a close friend in the South Indian film industry.
The unverified claim quickly gained attention online, leading to widespread curiosity and a flood of questions.
The Reddit post read, “Rumour has it Karan Johar secretly flew to South Korea multiple times to get… his face insured. Yup, inspired by a close friend, and apparently it’s a trend there. Insiders say he’s been way more chill since—smiling more, less snappy, even gave a rare compliment at work 😳 No word from him yet, but now we’re all wondering: does this cover acne, sunburns, wrinkles? And how much is that premium?!”

Along with the face insurance rumours, Karan Johar has been making headlines for his noticeable physical transformation. Over the past year, many speculated that the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director may have turned to popular weight-loss medications like Ozempic.
However, Johar set the record straight in a recent podcast with content creator Raj Shamani. “I have always been battling the bulge,” Johar admitted, emphasising that his fitness journey has been long and complex. “I’ve tried thousands of diets, five hundred kinds of workouts, every type you can imagine. Every diet, every workout routine, I’ve tried it all. I’ve been combating this for years.”
He went on to share that a recent health evaluation led to an unexpected discovery: he was living with thyroid-related issues and other medical concerns that had gone undetected. “It was only recently, after years, when I got my blood work done that I found out I had certain thyroid issues and other problems that I needed to fix and I’ve been working on correcting them,” he said.
Addressing the ongoing gossip linking him to pharmaceutical aids like Ozempic or Mounjaro, Johar pushed back firmly. “Now people ask me, ‘Are you on Mounjaro? Are you on Ozempic?’ I’m tired of these comments. People don’t know my truth. You don’t know.”
