Justin Timberlake was arrested on allegations of driving while intoxicated on Long Island on Tuesday, authorities confirmed. The singer was detained and later released after being arraigned in Sag Harbor, a coastal village in the Hamptons known for attracting wealthy visitors during the summer.

The 42-year-old singer was charged with one DWI count and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, according to the Suffolk County district attorney’s office. His lawyer and representatives have not yet commented on the incident.

Timberlake’s illustrious career began as a Disney Mouseketeer, where he performed alongside future girlfriend and pop singer Britney Spears. He gained fame as a member of the boy band NSYNC and launched a successful solo career in 2002. As an actor, he has received acclaim for roles in films such as The Social Network and Friends With Benefits. Timberlake has won ten Grammy Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards.

In recent headlines, Timberlake was mentioned in Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, which detailed their relationship, including a pregnancy, abortion, and their subsequent breakup. Timberlake released his first album in six years, Everything I Thought It Was, in March, marking a nostalgic return to his future funk sound.
