BTS‘ Jimin and Jungkook are officially back after concluding their respective military duties.

On June 11, the seven-member K-pop group’s fifth and sixth completed South Korea’s mandatory service, raising anticipations for the band’s impending reunion. As some of the youngest members of the global sensation, the Jimin and Jungkook greeted reporters and a mass influx of fans at Sports Park, Yeoncheon, South Korea the same way their fellow bandmates RM and V did yesterday.

The respective “Serendipity” and “Euphoria” hit-makers enlisted as active-duty soldiers in the ROK Army’s 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade on December 12, 2023. Their military discharge site saw a huge crowd of the group’s fans, known as BTS ARMYs, coming out to support their favourite singers. Yeoncheon witnessed such a rush in the early hours of Wednesday morning (KST) despite a previous warning issued by BTS’ agency.

Just days before Jimin and Jungkook’s discharge date, Big Hit Music urged fans to avoid overcrowding the area due to safety reasons. “We place the safety of our artists and fans as our top priority, and sincerely request our fans not to visit the sites in person. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts,” said the notice dated June 7.

BTS’ Jimin Jungkook return: Fans more emotional than ever

As the place erupted with cheers upon the BTS duo’s public arrival, even social media went up in emotional flames. Seeing Jimin and Jungkook, who are fondly also known as “JiKook” together, salute all those present, fans couldn’t hold back the pent up emotions that had only grown over the past few years since the band big a brief farewell to the music industry. The K-pop singers, who starred in the Disney+ travel series Are You Sure?! to keep the BTS ARMYs entertained during their military stint, were noticeably shy at the site today.

Their endearing smiles tugged at fans’ heartstrings, as comments like “Welcome Home Jimin, Jungkook” took over X. “I still can’t believe, we survived this long drought. We did it guys, WE DID IT. Jimin and Jungkook are finally here with us,” someone tweeted online. Another fans couldn’t help but notice how happy the two seemed to be back. Yet another commented, “Omg the BTS comeback is gonna be epic and phenomenal.”

With them returning to the music scene, now only Suga’s comeback is awaited until the septet is fully reunited for good for the first since they announced a hiatus following their BTS FESTA 2022 celebrations. The acclaimed K-pop star, who also goes by the alias AGUST D, is expected to finish his military stint on June 21, 2025 – a week after the group’s 12th anniversary.

This is a breaking story. More Information will be added soon…
