Jaya Bachchan, along with her daughter Shweta Bachchan and granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda, has been engaged in candid discussions about their lives and experiences on the latest season of their podcast “What The Hell Navya.” In an upcoming episode of the podcast, the trio delves into the topic of social media.

In a recent teaser for the episode, Jaya shared insights into her perspective on technology, reminiscing about a time when communication was limited to booking calls.

Reflecting on her younger days, Jaya revealed, “When I was young, we had to book a call, and there were two types: ordinary and emergency calls. If you spoke to your boyfriend, it had to be an emergency call.” Born in 1948, Jaya’s anecdotes provide a glimpse into the era before the digital age. She further elaborated on the changes brought about by technology, highlighting the stark contrast to the instantaneous communication prevalent in today’s world.

Addressing the topic of social media, Jaya Bachchan expressed her reservations about sharing personal aspects of her life online. She emphasized, “There’s enough that the world knows about us. We don’t need to share on Instagram.” Despite her family’s active presence on social media platforms, Jaya has chosen to maintain her distance from the virtual realm.

In a previous episode of the podcast, Jaya Bachchan discussed the prevalence of negative comments on social media platforms. “If you want to comment, then comment positively. But no, you just give your verdict,” she remarked, highlighting the tendency for online discourse to turn critical and judgmental. Navya Naveli Nanda chimed in, suggesting that trolls would hesitate to make such comments in person. Jaya echoed this sentiment, asserting, “They won’t have the courage.” Further adding,“If you are actually brave, then comment on actual issues and show your face.”
